Denim Alterations Workshop [NEW]

experience level: intermediate 

this hands on, creative workshop is designed for anyone who’s ready to feel confident working with denim and finally wear jeans that actually fit properly.

you’ll learn how to alter your own denim, focusing on two of the most in demand and useful skills: taking in the waist and hemming jeans. these are techniques you’ll be able to use again and again, saving you money on tailoring and helping you get more life out of your clothes.

by the end of the session, you’ll leave with your own altered jeans - altered for you, by you.

attending a beginner workshop beforehand is recommended (but not essential) as you’ll need to be comfortable threading a sewing machine and sewing independently to get the most out of the session.

what you’ll learn: 

• how to take in the waist of jeans for a better fit
• how to hem denim professionally (including preserving original hems where possible)
• how to handle thick denim fabric with confidence
• essential sewing terminology and tools
• mending worn areas on denim
• practical techniques you can apply to your own wardrobe again and again

what to bring:

• A pair of denim jeans that need altering or repairing
  (A pair can be provided if needed. please note as this is an intro workshop zip repairs not included)

what to expect:

• duration: 4 hours with 15-30 min break

• a small group

• 4 hour session with a 15–30 min break

• optional support after the workshop via DM if you get stuck

• all tools, denim needles, notebook, thread + fabric swatches included

• please arrive 5 minutes early to get settled in.

• each participant will have a sewing machine provided for them

• want to learn on your own machine? bring it along! just let me know in advance via instant chat, email, or Instagram DM

• we’ll finish the session with a complimentary glass of fizz (non-alcoholic option available)
