Technical Sewing Skills Workshop

Intermediate: you already know how to thread and confidently operate a sewing machine

this hands on workshop is designed who are ready to develop their technical sewing and garment construction skills.

you’ll work through a selection of commonly used garment construction techniques, creating your own samples as you go. we’ll focus on accuracy, technique and achieving a clean, professional finish, while breaking down methods that can sometimes feel intimidating when sewing at home.

what you’ll learn:

• how to construct a jetted pocket
• how to construct a patch pocket 
• how to sew an in seam pocket
• accurate marking and preparation techniques
• how to improve accuracy and achieve a cleaner, more professional finish
• practical garment construction tips and techniques

you’ll create individual sewing samples throughout the workshop, giving you something to refer back to when using these techniques in future projects.

by the end of the workshop, you’ll have developed your technical sewing skills and feel more confident approaching more detailed garment construction techniques independently.

what to expect:

• 3 hour hands on workshop
• small group with a maximum of 4 participants
• each participant will have a sewing machine provided for them
• all fabric, zips and materials needed to create your samples are provided

• we’ll finish the session with a complimentary glass of fizz (non-alcoholic option available)

you’ll receive a short pre-workshop form to fill out. this helps me understand your sewing experience before the session, so please make sure to complete it to get the most out of your workshop.

• this is an intermediate workshop and is not suitable for complete beginners. you should already be comfortable threading and operating a sewing machine independently.
